Mapping Tsunami Vulnerability Area for Bacan Sub-District and Its Surroundings – North Maluku Province

This research aims to explore tsunami-prone areas in the Bacan and South districts of Halmahera Regency. The findings this are planned assist all stakeholders, particularly developing disaster risk assessment sheets. To estimate tsunami hazard map, susceptibility elevation, slope, river distance, coastal distance was collected. Overlaying thematic maps were used assisted by GIS software. result shows that low very vulnerability safe from inundation predominate Eastern part Northern study area while designated as vulnerable covered 157,10 hectares. These locations may have sustained most damage a catastrophe due their proximity sea, terrain dense population. In consideration disasters Aceh, we anticipate will support initiation humanitarian development activities North Maluku Province.
